National Senior Citizens Committee 2015 – 2017

The National Senior Citizen Committee was extremely active over the past two
years ensuring senior citizens across the United States were educated, supported,
loved and treated with dignity and respect.

Our total hours of volunteer service was 34,579 hours impacting well over 10,000
senior citizens, their families and friends, and those that provided care for them
at home as well as in Senior Citizen facilities. Often times they were an integral
part of helping us execute our outreach.

Top Ladies, their friends, family and sponsors provided approximately $7,500.00
dollars in cash and in-kind donations. The money and in-kind donations went to
a variety of projects, events, and activities. Often the Senior Citizen Committee
partnered with other programmatic Thrusts and Projects to achieve its goal. At
other times we formed partnerships with other organizations to ensure the
success of our program.

One of the pillars of our program is Health Fairs and Caregivers forums. These
events promote healthy living and cover vital information for our seniors. We
solicit professionals from the community to provide the information. Several
chapters hosted Senior Citizen Fairs between 2015 and 2017 at a variety of places
from Senior Centers to Churches. Over the last four years here are just an
example of partnerships we have forged: Department of Aging across the
county, Meals on Wheels, Fortis Dental College and the local Alzheimer’s
Associations. These organizations are always willing to provide speakers,
materials, and generous gifts for the participants. The pictures below are from

Another successful outreach for seniors is to ensure our
seniors are educated and provided the means and
opportunity to vote. Many chapters partnered with
NAACP on voter registration providing transportation so
seniors could vote. One such event was entitled Roll to
the Polls. Often speakers give informative presentations
on the registration requirements, early voting, absentee
