The TLOD National Community Beautification Programs are
Our Destination to a More Beautiful America
Community Beautification has no finish line. There is no final
destination. The evidence of this statement is revealed in our Program
Objectives suggesting there will always be work to be accomplished.
Our mission is summed up in four areas: litter prevention, green living,
beautification and waste reduction. So, regardless of our service, there
will always remain work to be done in the environmental stewardship
arena.
We can applaud our Community Beautification journey that has forged
successful partnerships and relationships over the past four years with
Keep America Beautiful (KAB) and Affiliates across the nation. Our
partnership with KAB sums up the relevancy of TLOD’s objectives –
enhancing and maintaining the communities in which we live, work and
recreate. Every journey begins with a single step. In order for us to
appreciate our Community Beautification accomplishments, let’s review
our past, so we can fully embrace our future.
1. Syn-Lod 2013, San Antonio, Texas – TLOD formed a partnership
with Keep Texas Beautiful (KAB).
2. 2013 – Partnerships encouraged between TLOD local chapters
and KAB Affiliates. Illinois’ Affiliate hesitant about partnering
with TLOD.
3. 2014 – 100 % TLOD Chapter participation with the Great
American Cleanup Campaign.
4. 2015 – 2016 All Chapters encouraged to join KAB Affiliates.
Reporting 100% Chapter participation where applicable.
5. 2015 – National Community Beautification Program Chair joined
