Hondo, Texas and its South Texas Regional Airport will initially serve as
the global headquarters for the Wings mission.
Hondo is positioned ideally in the central east/west and north/south
axis of North America. Its size, extremely low disaster risk, and agricul-
tural based economy is only 25 minutes from San Antonio and provides
an excellent location for developing Wings' operations.
The Wings development will double the population of Hondo within
three years to an estimated 18,000 to 20,000. Because Hondo has little
to no housing, it will be necessary for Wings to make a substantial in-
vestment in making vast improvements and enhancements into residen-
tial, retail, entertainment and critical infrastructure to provide a healthy
and positive standard of living for all residents of Hondo attracting
more positive development and sustainable growth of the community.
