Frequent ambush checks/night inspections are being conducted and
staff alertness being checked. Errant staff are being brought to the
notice of concerned branch officers.
Intensive inspection/audits conducted at major private sidings and the
deficiencies noticed were advised to siding authorities for immediate
attention.
The deficiencies/irregularities noticed during safety inspections by safety
branch are being uploaded in SIMS inspection module and its
compliance are being monitored by safety branch and resolving the
issues in SIMS.
New initiative taken- Daily one G&SR rule is being messaged to all safety
category staff CUG phone numbers.
Audio Visual aid for smart counseling to Yard staff and Pvt/FCI sidings
staff on stabling in Pvt siding, shunting in siding and wrapping of tarpaulin
on wagons is arranged.
Monitoring the counselling of TM operators at specified intervals to
update their knowledge by CLIs at every crew depot, where these staff
are working and as directed by SSE/TM/in charge.
HAND BOOK ON SIGNAL LOCATIONS OF ALL SECTIONS WORKED BY SC
DIVISION CREW INCLUDING ADJACENT DIVISIONS WITH SPECIAL EMPHASIS
ON RHS LOCATIONS ISSUED TO ALL CREW.
Safety improvement by collaborative efforts at SKP ballast siding – Siding
1&2 track linking at exit point was suspended due to combination fish
plates for 90R & 52kg rails. On insisting and arranging required material
from P. Way/NZB depot by safety team it has connected at exit point
and avoided shunting on main line for locomotive escape.
Opening of Google sheet for Points and Crossings and every month
getting detailed report and same sending to DRM.
S&T Cable route marking indicators provision for easy identification of
cables route.
Staff sensitized to ensure Horizontal clearances in station yard &
Horizontal clearances at other than station yards as per SOD to avoid
door hitting cases.
Proper isolation at RE area by provision of rod and rope insulation at Non-
interlocked LC gates by TrD.
e. Steps Taken to Prevent Fire Accidents: Intensive safety checks
are being conducted on aspects such as:
Intensive publicity campaigns to prevent the travelling public from
carriage of inflammable goods are regularly undertaken.
Checks for prevention of carrying explosives, dangerous inflammable
articles, crackers, gas cylinders, dry grass leaves, acids, corrosive
substances by passengers, or booked as parcels.
Checks on safety provisions in gas operated cooking arrangements in
pantry car.
Checks on unauthorized hawkers and vendors using Sigris and Stoves on
trains.
