VII IN-HOUSE DEVELOPED BLOWING/DUST COLLECTION CHAMBER:

During overhauling to remove dust, grease and oil sediments blowing of
Auxiliary motors is done by forced air. Due this the dust particles are flown in
all directions, making the ambience shabby. To avoid this blowing chamber
with suction motor was built in-house. The blown dust is collected in a
chamber and is cleaned periodically.

VIII. IN-HOUSE DEVELOPED JIG FOR REPLACEMENT OF AIR DRYER:
Replacement of under slung Air dryers is being done by manual support and
also by providing support blocks where there is a chance of falling of the air
dryer causing injury to the personnel involved and damaging the
equipment. This work is consuming additional manpower and maximizing

the down time of locomotives. To ease the replacement of air dryer ELS/LGD
has prepared a jig with Hydraulic Hand Pallet Truck which was specially
designed & fabricated with in-house resources and fitted with Hand Chain
Hoist which can be easily operated. This jig can be towed to the work spot
where Air Dryer can be removed, carried back to the section and new Air
dryer can be provided with ease without consuming additional manpower

and time.
