KAAR PROJECT – D&B CONTRACT STATUS
PREVIOUS ROLE: SENIOR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT – MECCA REDEVELOPMENT (KAAR)
2 KEO International. Location: Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
From May, 2015 to March, 2016, Michael was the senior
Landscape Architect on a 3.65 kilometer long
redevelopment of the Mecca, extending from the most
holiest mosque of Islam: the Majid Al Haram to the
third ring road. The project being the largest and most
important project in Saudi Arabia.
His responsibilities were to help advise the client, Umm
Al Qura, on all aspects of the Atkins concept design, and
to ensure all aspects of the masterplan were efficiently
and effectively undertaken.
Achievements:
Michael provided design advise to assist fine-tune the
Atkins concept masterplan design. Daily, Michael would
meet with the client and provide input on the proposed
layout and design aspects of the urban design including
the quality and aesthetics of the future paving, street
furniture, soft landscape elements.
