Exercise 8. On a separate sheet of paper, change the following “telling statements” into
showing statements by adding new things, but be sure to express the original idea.
Examples:
Telling: Rahmat didn't want to go to school today.
Showing: Rahmat sighed as he crumpled his school assignment and placed his books into his
bag.
Telling: Fatimah didn't want to search for the lost cat
Showing: Fatimah complained, "Do I have to, Mom?" when her mother urged her to find the
lost cat.
Telling: Filzah’s favourite class was administrative law.
Showing: Filzah spent the entire day waiting to attend administrative law class, and every
time he did, he grinned.
