St. Mary’s Medical Center
St. Mary’s Medical Center & Palm Beach Children’s
Hospital announced the appointment of Cynthia
McCauley as its new Chief Administrative Officer. In this
new role, McCauley is responsible for all strategic growth,
operations and finances for both facilities.
St. Mary’s Medical Center also became the first hospital
in Palm Beach and Broward county to use the Surpass
Streamline Flow Diverter to treat unruptured large and
giant wide neck intracranial aneurysms. The device is the
second flow diverting stent to gain FDA approval in the

Rehabilitation Facilities) awarded St. Mary’s Medical
Center and the Palm Beach Children’s Hospital accredita-

America’s 50 Best Hospitals Award for the 17th straight
year, since the inception of the award. The distinction
places the hospital in the top 1 percent of more than 4,500
hospitals assessed nationwide for its consistent, year-over-
year superior clinical performance as measured by
Healthgrades.
The hospital also received the bariatric surgical center
accreditation as a Comprehensive Center under the
Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality
Improvement Program (MBSAQIP®), a joint program of
the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the
American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery
(ASMBS).
In addition, DMC became the first hospital in South
Florida to perform the Trans Carotid Artery
Revascularization (TCAR) procedure to treat carotid
artery disease and help prevent future strokes, is now a
center of excellence for this procedure. This recognition
by Silk Road Medical designates Delray Medical Center as
South Florida’s only TCAR Center of Excellence.
