Lucie Dlugasch, ARNP-BC. MSN, PhD
Lucie Dlugasch is a clinical associate professor for graduate nursing at FIU Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences. As a
long-time faculty member, she combines engagement and education to enhance the FIU nursing student experience. She introduced the
ProjectHOPE global health education and humanitarian assistance organization to FIU nursing students to give them valuable clinical experi-
ence working abroad on a medical ship.
The endeavor evolved into collaborations with the U.S. Navy on military-led humanitarian missions. She recently returned from Colombia,
where she led FIU nurse practitioner students to provide critical medical care, distribute vaccines and educate community health workers.
Lucie’s drive for change is most symbolized by the Analise Dlugasch Memorial Endowment, established by her family in honor of their daugh-
ter who passed away from a choking accident. The endowment supports FIU HEART, a CPR education program for FIU hospitality students
and professionals. Lucie earned her PhD
and MSN from the University of Miami
and her BSN from Florida State
