6. The Inverted Commas (‘‘ ’’) : The inverted commas are used to mark off the

actual words used by a speaker.

Capital Letters

Capital letters are used to begin :

(a) Every new sentence

(i) T he manager was late today.

(ii) S ohan is going to school.

(b) Proper nouns and adjectives formed by them.
