The importance of air for all living things.
All living things need air to stay alive.
Air is present all around us. All living
things need air to breathe. Air cannot be
seen or touched but it can be felt when it
moves. When you swing, run very fast you
can feel the air move against your face.

What does air contain?
Water of seas, ponds, rivers and lakes gets warm
up due to the heat of the Sun. This water changes
into water vapour and mixes with air.
Water from wet clothes also changes into water
vapour.
Thus, air contains water vapour. Clothes drying under
the Sun.

The air in the Earth's atmosphere is made up of approximately 78 per cent
nitrogen and 21 per cent oxygen.
