P. 69
One day, their peaceful world was turned upside down when a very
scared deer came running their way, his eyes filled with fear. This fear
quickly spread to the three friends, and in a hurry, they each found a safe
place to hide—the tortoise dove into the lake, the rat hurried into his cozy
hole, and the crow looked for safety up high in the tree branches.
But when the crow looked around and saw no immediate danger, he
called out to his friends, "It's safe now, dear friends! I don't see any danger
nearby."
Relieved, the three friends gathered again. The deer, still shaking a
little, shared his story about nearly getting caught by a hunter and his camp
that was getting closer.
The two friends were very worried about their slow-moving tortoise
friend. They tried to convince him to stay, saying, "We can face anything
together." But the tortoise, too scared, had already decided to leave for
another pond, thinking it would be safer.
