Launch a premium-rate telephone service called Talk To
A Stranger. Calls to the line would be connected to a
randomly selected domestic telephone number. A
recorded message would explain to whomever picked
up the phone that the caller was paying, say, 50p a
minute and that a share of the revenue would be
321credited to their phone bill should they accept the call.

Subsidise the economy by introducing advertising
messages to bank notes and coins. Advertisers could
take the opportunity to explain how the particular
denomination could be spent on their products. Should
the concept prove too blatantly commercial for public
acceptance, the currency could be employed to
322communicate charitable statements and requests. A
description of what £10 could buy in a struggling third-
world economy would make quite an impression if
printed on a bank note.
