Conduct a consumer-research programme based on
children’s Christmas lists. The letters to Father
Christmas could be posted care of a newspaper or
magazine, which could then determine the most
popular gifts of the season. By publishing the top 100
Most Wanted presents in advance, stores could prepare
414themselves for the demand and offer parents further
inspiration before Christmas shopping.
