authors’ acknowledgements
A great number of creative and enterprising people have helped us to
develop this book in accordance with the four-step idea development
process which it describes. To all those actual or aspiring entrepreneurs
who have contributed generously, albeit anonymously, to our efforts
through participation in workshops, on consultancy assignments or
through individual feedback, we offer our grateful thanks.
Particular thanks are also due to a number of leading figures who have
contributed significantly to our thinking: Robert Heller, Professor Tudor
Rickards, Trevor Baylis, Professor John Child, Sue Stedman, Professor
John Mullins, Jim Bodoh, Professor David Kirby, Professor Gerard
Puccio and Professor Eugene McKenna.
We acknowledge the skills and vision of all those at Pearson who have
helped us to develop the book from the initial germ of an idea into a
finished product which we hope will help businesses and individuals
alike to generate new ideas and thinking: Richard Stagg, Laura
Brundell, Kate Salkilld, Catherine Timothy, Elie Ball, Vivienne Church
and Stephen Partridge.
Especial thanks are due to all those who have supported, guided and
inspired us at various stages of our careers, especially Jean McGinty,
Ken Pardey, Gwyneth Lawson, Tom Taylor and John Mroczek.
Our final debt of gratitude is to Tara, whose constant good humour and
consistently positive feedback has sustained us throughout.
