6.	Ignite	snippets.
Every	post	you	write	probably	has	a	few	short	quotable	gems	that	people	might
like to share (because it makes them look cooler, smarter, funnier, etc!). There
are	several	plug-ins	that	allow	people	to	tweet	specific	quotes	right	from	the	text
of your post. You also can embed short quotes on slides in your live
presentations. By spoon-feeding content in this fashion, you make it easy for
people to ignite your ideas right from their seats in the meeting or conference
room.

7.	Participate	in	link	roundups.
Many bloggers curate their favorite blog posts into daily, weekly, or monthly
link roundups. You can find link roundups in your market by searching for
keywords like “link roundup” or “weekly link roundup.” If you want to find
blogs that are specifically related to your market, add a modifier like “link
roundup” + marketing or “link roundup” + parenting. Contact the blog owner
and send them a link to your latest blog post. If you use this technique
judiciously	and	send	bloggers	only	your	very	best	content,	there’s	a	good	chance
they	will	eventually	link	to	you.

8.	Promote	new	content	within	old	content.
Here’s a little trick to introduce blog readers to new content. Use a tool like
Social	Crawlytics	to	determine	your	most-shared	content	over	the	last	few	years.
Chances are your best work is still attracting new readers. After you’ve
identified	the	most	trafficked	and	shared	pages	on	your	site,	add	links	to	relevant
keywords that point to your new content. Another trick is to embed your own
ads on these popular posts to promote services and other content. For example,
on	my	most	popular	Twitter-related	posts	(which	still	get	hundreds	of	views	each
year)	I	have	a	graphic	at	the	end	promoting	my	book	The	Tao	of	Twitter.

9.	Join	a	content-sharing	club.
There are a number of sites where you can join other content creators to share
and support each other’s efforts. One popular site is Triberr, which is like a
blogging	club	where	you	can	discover	and	share	content	in	a	reciprocal	fashion.
This interaction provides an opportunity for entirely new audiences to discover
your	content.

10.	Send	a	personalized	note	or	email	to	bloggers	in	your	industry.
Adding a personal touch to your promotion strategies can provide powerful
results. If you have a valuable piece of content you want shared around the
