Cognitive and visual perceptual deficits will vary in
nature and intensity depending on condition, injury and
part of brain affected. Some common deficits are:
• Difficulty with memory
• Having difficulty attending
to a task
• Slow to process information
• Disoriented or confused
• Word finding difficulties

• Inability to multi-task
• Poor visual scanning
• Difficulty with mental math (counting backwards,
subtracting, etc.)
Also, physical symptoms may occur or be present, such as:
• Headaches
• Eye pain

• Fatigue
• Heavy headedness
• Numbness
• Diplopia—double vision
• Decreased field vision / field cuts
