Management and Prevention
If you are having cognitive symptoms, it is important
to promote optimal brain health.
• Stay mentally active. (ex. read or do puzzles
daily that challenge your brain.)
• Eat a well balanced diet low in fats, sugar
and caffeine.
• Avoid alcohol and drug abuse.
• Get regular exercise.
• Get regular sleep—8 to 9 hours daily.

• Do meditation or relaxation techniques
to reduce stress.
• Avoid toxic chemicals in your environment such
as pollution and poisons, heavy metals, solvents
and fuels, pesticides and carbon monoxide.
• Avoid situations that may cause head injury.
• Avoid motor vehicle accidents, drive safely and
wear a seat belt
