Lesson 2 Conjunction
What is Conjunction ?
Conjunction is a conjunction, linking word, or conjunction in
English. Conjunctions, also called Linking Words, are used
to connect between words (Words), between phrases
(Phrases), and between clauses (Clauses) in a sentence.
Examples of Conjunctions in English are for, and, nor,
but, or, yet, so, although, because, since, unless, as, if, so,
while, when, either-or, neither-nor, whether-or, both-and,
not only-but also.
Types of Conjunction
1. Coordinating Conjunctions
Coordinating Conjunctions are a type of conjunction that
connects two words, two phrases, or two clauses that are
equivalent. What is meant by equivalent is that the
connected words, phrases, or clauses are of the same type.
Examples of Coordinating Conjunctions are for, and, nor,
but, or, yet, so.
Conjunction and means "dan" in Bahasa Indonesia. This
conjunction is used to add one more thing. "My mom just
bought a cup of coffee and a croissant."
Conjunction "For" means "karena" in Bahasa Indonesia.
This conjunction is used to indicate cause and effect. "My
mom didn't cook, for he had a busy day."
Conjunction "Nor" means "tidak juga" in Bahasa
Indonesia. This conjunction is used to connect a sentence
that start with negative clause. "I don't like to watch
movies, nor do I enjoy listening to music."
