Types of Conjunction
Conjunction "But" means "tetapi" in Bahasa Indonesia. This
conjunction is used to show two things that contrast each
other. "They worked hard on the project, but they didn't meet
the deadline."
Conjunction "Or" means "atau" in Bahasa Indonesia. This
conjunction is used to show a choice. "Which one did you
prefer? working as an administration staff or as a manager?
Conjunction "Yet" means "tetapi, namun" in Bahasa Indonesia.
This conjunction is used to show two things that contrast each
other. "I working as a manager, yet my mom don't like this job."
Conjunction "So" means "jadi" in Bahasa Indonesia. This
conjunction is used to show an effect or consequence. My
brother forgot to bring his clothes, so he use my clothes.``
2. Subordinating Conjunctions
Subordinating Conjunctions are a type of conjunction that connects
two clauses, those two clauses are Independent Clause and
Dependent Clause. Independent Clause is a type of clause that can
stand alone. Therefore, Dependent Clause is a type of clauses that
can't stand alone. Dependent Clauses usually start with a
conjunction in the beginning of the sentence. Some of the
conjunctions that include Subordinating Conjunction are: although,
because, since, so that, before, unless.
Conjunction "although" means "walaupun, meskipun" in Bahasa
Indonesia. This conjunction is used to show two things that is
contrast each other. "Although it was raining heavily, they
decided to go for a picnic in the park."
Conjunction "Because" means "karena" in Bahasa Indonesia. This
conjunction is used to indicate a reason. "I couldn't attend the
party because I had to finish an important project for work."
