       In the Midlands Group we run a points series for our
       members based on their best six results from  In the meantime, we in the Midlands Group wish

                                             (sometimes referred to as George) Dawson, one of
                                             our group stalwarts and national age record breaker
                                             (173 in total, the most anyone has achieved), sadly
                                             passed away in late October.  His son, Paul has
                                             kindly provided an obituary, printed elsewhere in
                                             this edition of the Veteran.  He will be sadly missed
                                             by all that knew him.
                                             Elsewhere, the health bug has impacted on a
                                             number of our members, with one of our northern
                                             contingent, Peter Manners, having experienced a
                                             heart attack earlier in the year announcing his
                                             retirement from time trialling.  He is however not lost
                                             to our sport, as he has now joined the increasing
                                             number of people who are purchasing electric road
                                             bikes.  Also not feeling too well at present is one of
                                             the consistent group trophy winners, Steve
                                             Fullerton, who has had surgery and is hoping to
