PROPERTIES
GEATAN VBT is a vegetable tannin chemically modified by inorganic
compounds. Thus, a balanced oxidative reaction occurs with the
vegetable extract, generating a black color to the leather. Therefore,
the percentage of black dyestuff can be reduced. .
GEATAN VBT can be used during retanning processes in all kinds of
black leather. It provides excellent tightness, fullness and compactness
along with a smooth grain surface. GEATAN VBT can be used along
with other replacement syntans, vegetable tannins and resins. .
Due to its tightening properties, leathers made with GEATAN VBT have
excellent buffability. For that reason, the product is suitable for splits
and suedes. .
The recommended usage on shaved weight is 6.0 – 8.0%.
