PROPERTIES
GEATAN TGR is a vegetable pyrogallic tannin modified with synthe c
components. It may be used both in tanning and retanning. In
retanning, it is used on vegetable and chrome leather. On purely
vegetable leather, GEATAN TGR imparts compac on, so ness, firm
grain and light shades. When used as a retanning agent for chrome
leather, GEATAN TGR produces compact, non-elas c ar cles with
firm grain, that is, typical characteris cs of vegetable-tanned leather.
It is compa ble with all other vegetable, synthe c and resinous
tannins. It may be used on all sorts of ar cles such as leather for
footwear, leathergoods and upholstery. It is recommended to apply
between 6 and 10% calculated on the weight of the shaved pelts
together with the other retanning agents applied.
