PROPERTIES
GEATAN RF is a synthetic tannin developed as an auxiliary in the
prevention and reduction of hexavalent chromium and in the
reduction of the level of formldehyde in leather. It is recommended
to add GEATAN RF in two stages, being one addition of 2 - 3% in the
neutralisation process and a second addition of 2 - 3% at the ending
of the retanning process. When using GEATAN RF in the neutralisation
process, it is possible to note the increase of both the exhaustion of
the chromium baths and the buffering of the neutralisation pH. When
GEATAN RF is employed in retanning, this product contributes to the
penetratio and distribution of both retanning agents and dyestuffs,
thus producing leather with excellent uniform dyeing.
