PROPERTIES
GEATAN NS 100 is a synthetic auxiliary tannin of neutral action. It was
specially developed to act in the retanning chrome and/or vegetable
leathers. Its use is very versatile, either as a facilitating agent for dye
penetration, tannin dispersant, or even as a desacidifying agent in the
neutralization step. Due to its chemical characteristics, GEATAN NS 100
can be used to promote the penetration of vegetable tannins in the
tanning and retanning processes. Used in these processes it decreases
the adstringency of the vegetable extracts favoring their penetration
and better distribution throughout the interior of the fibrous structure.
GEATAN NS 100 has excellent dye penetration and equalization results,
whether with acid, direct or metallic complex dyes. In addition to the
attributes described above, GEATAN NS 100 does not negatively
influence the intensity of dyeing. There are achieved excellent results
of equalization and dispersion adding GEATAN NS 100, 10 minutes
before adding tannins or dyestuff.
