Utilization: retanning agent for filling, equalization,
and buffing

PROPERTIES
GEATAN TR is a natural-based Retanning agent with high tanning
action. For being tannin characterized by acid-formation, GEATAN TR
presents higher tanning action than the majority of condensed
tannins, the formers of flabophenes (quebracho, mimosa, etc.). Due
to this factor, GEATAN TR presents much higher results of filling, firm
grain, light coloring, softness, and elasticity on leathers tanned or re-
tanned with it. Because of the reaction type of its components with
the hides' fibrous structure, GEATAN TR produces compact and little
reactive leathers to loose grain, even when exposed to drying and
finishing mechanic actions. Indicated for a large variety of leathers,
GEATAN TR can be used in skins (calf, goat and crossbreeds), and in
large hides (bovines) for footwear and up to fogging test resistant
upholstery articles, for furniture upholstery, and automotive leathers.
In vegetable Retanning, it is recommended to use GEATAN TR with
high performance fatliquors, such as GEOFAT PS and GEOFAT LN,
achieving in this way leathers of optimal filling and excellent
reactivity. In dyed leathers, it gives color intensity, on the surface as
well in the leather crosscut.
