Spruce Plant introduction:

Also known as Maoxian spruce, Maoxian fir, etc. Arbor.

Up to 45 meters, and DBH 1 meter.

Quantity and distribution:
BBAC has 21 spruce trees, which are planted in MRA
plant area.

Significance and role:
Spruce is a valuable tree species in China, featuring
dignified tree posture, strong adaptability, strong wind

resistance and smoke resistance. It can be used for
construction, aircraft, sleepers, electric poles, boats,
appliances, furniture and wood fiber industry. Pine resin

can be cut from the trunk. Aromatic oil can be extracted
from roots, wood, branches and leaves. Tannin can be
extracted from bark. With excellent material, fast growth
and strong adaptability, it should be selected as the

afforestation tree species in the distribution area.
