Shrub Chapter

Forsythia Plant introduction:

Deciduous shrub, up to 3 meters high, with
clumped branches, yellow branchlets, arched
drooping and hollow. The flowering period is
from March to April and the fruiting period is

from July to September.

Significance and role:
Forsythia has strong sprouting force and rapid
increase in canopy coverage. It has a good role

in soil and water conservation. It is an excellent
ecological tree species recommended by the
country for returning farmland to forest and the

best cash crop for preventing and controlling soil
and water loss on the Loess Plateau. Forsythia
trees feature beautiful posture and vigorous

growth. It blooms first in early spring, with long
flowering period and large amount of flowers.
When it is in full bloom, its branches are golden

and fragrant. It is an excellent flowering shrub
in early spring, which can be made into flower
hedgerows, flower bushes, flower beds, etc.

Quantity and distribution:

BBAC plants more than 600 Forsythia trees,
which are planted all over the plant area.
