MAKE SURE YOUR CHILDREN’S HEALTH IS COVERED WHEN THEY LEAVE HOME.
Plan coverage during college
If your children are in college and covered by your ConnectiCare plan, they’ll be covered for any
emergency or urgent care illnesses or injuries. Call Member Services at (860) 674-5757 or
1-800-251-7722, or via e-mail at info@connecticare.com. Once you’re a member, you can e-mail us
through our secure messaging online.
What we ask of students who have an emergency/urgent care need:
• Notify us at (860) 674-5870 as soon as you, or someone on your behalf, can contact us
regarding your admission into the hospital. (A friend or family member can call for you.)
• Students may be required to pay for services. Make sure they obtain a copy of the itemized bill and
send it to ConnectiCare for reimbursement (along with an explanation).
• If students have questions about any services or follow-up care, they should always feel free to call
Member Services at (860) 674-5757 or 1-800-251-7722, or via e-mail at info@connecticare.com.
Once you’re a member, you can e-mail us through our secure messaging online.
• Remember – for many instances of routine and follow-up care (such as allergy shots, mental health,
alcohol and substance abuse, physical therapy and doctor visits), pre-authorization must be obtained
or the services must be administered by a participating practitioner in ConnectiCare’s network.
(This rule does not apply to POS plan members.)
