ConnectiCare’s goal has always been to serve our members well in sickness and health. Our efforts have
been recognized by our industry’s toughest critic. The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) is a
private, not-for-profit organization that gives HMOs credit for a job well done through a detailed review process.
And ConnectiCare’s commercial HMO is one of the nation’s top HMOs, in its opinion. We attained full
accreditation in 1997 and have maintained excellent accreditation since 1999. We were judged against the
highest standards in several areas: quality of care; practitioner credentials and medical records; how well we
communicate member rights and responsibilities; preventive health services; and our record as care
managers. ConnectiCare has a reputation for outstanding performance in all these areas.

Doctor visits

While you’re thinking over your choices for a Primary Care Provider, keep this in mind. We endeavor to meet
with many of the Primary Care Providers who contract with us. And before we approve them for network
participation, we review their credentials against the high standards of the National Committee for Quality
Assurance (NCQA). That can take up to eight weeks, so be sure to check out our most recent Provider
Directory for a complete list. Just send the card in this booklet for the latest copy, or visit our website at
