Big Ben, using his lengthy leverage, boosted out of the gate into the top five for moto one and a stellar start
to his Saturday. Losing spots to Roczen and Pourcel, Bloss crossed lap one in 5th. Forced to battle with Tomac, Bloss was able to prove his ability is no fluke as he traded spots with Eli early. It was a short-lived battle as Eli made the 2nd move stick, pushing Bloss to 6th, and then 7th after Musquin made a move shortly thereafter. After a few laps in 7th, Benny fell another spot as Dean Wilson made his way by while the race officially settled in and racers began to separate themselves. Staying with Wilson, Bloss was able to plan his move and although it took a few laps, Big Ben made his way back into 7th and found himself to be the middle por- tion of a three-way KTM battle. As the race reached its late laps, Pourcel crashed out resulting in Bloss’ emergence into 6th and then into 5th around Andrew Short, who struggled late in the race.
