TRISTAN LEWIS
Anyone in attendance at the Day- tona RCSX couldn’t miss the #735 Yamaha of Tristan Lewis at the
front of the pack in the B class. The Georgia native only finished outside of the top five on one occasion at the World Center of Racing, scoring a seventh place in the 250 B main event after starting well outside the top ten on the opening lap. Nonethe- less, Lewis excelled in the 250 B Limited main event after recording
a fifth place in the heat race. The rider out of Millsaps Training Facil- ity grabbed a stellar jump out of
the gate and put himself inside the top three as the pack rounded the opening bend, settling into a position at the sharp end of the field. Lewis held his own for the remainder of the race, taking advantage of a mistake by another rider which bumped him up to second place on the last lap. Lewis moved onto Texas where he hoped to find his way back to the po- dium, but a tough moto in the 250 B class ended his week early. Although the overall results don’t reflect Lewis’ speed, he still managed to consis- tently battle for the top five through- out the first motos at Freestone.
CARTER BIESE
After only a handful of races on the 250, Carter Biese showed up at the Daytona RCSX as one of the top guns in 250 B and Schoolboy 2. The Wisconsin native kicked off the 2018 racing season with a couple of wins on the indoor circuit, preparing him perfectly for the supercross style track at the Daytona Interna- tional Speedway. Unfortunately, poor starts affected Biese’s hopes of capturing a victory throughout both days of racing, but he still managed to make the best of each and every situation. The Husqvarna rider finished both 250 B Limited and 250 B within the top five, recording a third place overall in the former division. The most impressive part about Biese’s performance was his ability to carve through the pack as he started both main events well outside the top five, recovering in fine style to sal- vage solid finishes.
