SETH HAMMAKER
Consistent speed was the name of the game for Seth Hammaker throughout the 2018 spring events, stacking up a total of two overall podium finishes as well as six top five moto results. The Pennsylvania native was one of the fastest riders in practice at the Daytona RCSX, but his first moto results were affected drastically by poor starts. Ham- maker was able to repair the issue on the second day of action at the World Center of Racing, securing a good jump out of the gate in the Open Pro Sport class which put him in contention for
the win. His speed was just a tick off the leader, but the Team Green Kawasaki rider stayed calm and consistent until the checkered flag, wrapping up second place overall with ease. Hammaker moved onto the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship one week later and his impeccable streak of consistency con- tinued, only finishing one moto outside of the top five following a start outside of the top twenty. Nonetheless, his results in the first two motos awarded him with fourth place overall in the Open A class in addition to the second place overall result that he achieved in the 250 A class.
PIERCE BROWN
It was a month of many podiums for Pierce Brown as he cemented himself as one of the top riders in the B class moving into the remainder of the rac- ing season during spring events. The Orange Brigade backed KTM rider failed to finish on the overall podium in only one of his classes ranging between the Daytona RCSX and the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship, resulting in a total of five overall podi- ums and two subsequent titles. Brown wasn’t able to lock down consistent finishes on the opening day of racing at Daytona -- only finishing in the
top three on one occasion -- but he turned it around as the main events got underway and easily claimed the number one plate in the Schoolboy 2 class. The Utah native really seemed to settle into a flow when things got underway at Freestone, winning four out of six of his motos throughout the week. An uncharacteristic sixth place finish damaged his overall standing in the Schoolboy 2 division, but he still managed to hold on for a third place after winning the second moto. Nonetheless, Brown still claimed a title in the 250 B division and was undoubtedly at the top of the B class every time the gate dropped.
