Jordan Bailey had an uncharacteristic start to the spring events as he struggled to a fifth and ninth place finish on the opening day of racing at the Daytona RCSX, but the Florida native quickly rebounded just one day later for the main events. The Rockstar Husqvarna rider has repeatedly established himself as one of the heavy hitters in the A class and he backed up that claim during Monday’s racing, scoring a fourth place in 250 A
as well as an overall podium in the Open Pro Sport division. Bailey made the trek to Texas for the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship where he competed in both A classes, logging more consistent finishes throughout the week. His best result came in the 250 A class where he battled his way to a third place result in the final moto, subsequently combining for a fourth place overall. Bailey’s con- sistency was key throughout the lengthy three moto format, rarely finishing far from the podium which awarded him with two top five overall finishes at the top of the amateur motocross food chain.

Jalek Swoll made the highly an- ticipated step up to the 250 in
the final stages of 2017, but an injury during supercross at the Thor Winter Olympics would end his first campaign on the bike early, leav- ing more questions than answers. The Florida native showed up at the Daytona RCSX with a vengeance, ready to make amends for his mis- takes at Mini O’s last November. It was a perfect start for the Rockstar Husqvarna rider at the World Center of Racing as he collected both
moto wins on the first day of action, placing himself in good standing for the main events. Swoll wasn’t able to perform a clean sweep, but his worst finish of the weekend was a second overall in the Schoolboy 2 division, and he took the number one plate in the 250 B class. He wasn’t able to replicate the same level of domination at Freestone, but the Rockstar Husqvarna rider still managed to take the number one plate in the Schoolboy 2 class that eluded him at Daytona.
