BROC TICKLE
IMAGE/JACKEDWARDS
Being the teammate of the current points leader after round one, life becomes that much more unforgiving. You ride the same machine, use the same parts and in many aspects, talk to the same people but there’s something separating the two of you. You push for and desire to be the one that leads the team from
race to race but you come into round two some 40-points down of the other bike that shares the same
tent and you start to lose a bit of that friend called confidence. Enter the life of Broc Tickle, teammate of last weekend’s overall winner, Ken Roczen. Tickle, since leaving the prized pit of Mitch Payton’s Monster Energy Kawasaki team, hasn’t quite made it into the serious contender some may have expected. Certain injuries and multiple mid-race hiccups have prevented the #20 from making in-roads to the lead group and Hangtown was more of the same. Finishing with a 14th and 18th respectively for 15th overall, Tickle has a lot of ground to close the gap on his counterpart and needs to stay motivated, strong and smooth aboard the bike to improve upon his opening round performance.
