Standing in the shadows of the #94 pitted next to him, Tickle decided to show up at Glen Helen at put in some impressive rides to complete his goal of improving his result. He qualified 11th out of the long list of competitors and took the fast lines to heart in moto one. He started the race in 12th,
following the first lap of round two in 2016. Tickle settled there, bouncing around over the first half of the race and finding himself back in 13th. Making a push near the two-thirds mark, Tickle picked off two spots to 11th with ten minutes left. He got by Noren for 10th and in the final few laps, by Nicoletti for 9th as the checkered flag was saved in the setting sun. Two hours later, as the gate dropped for the second and final time for the 450’s, Tickle didn’t get off the starting pad with as much control and crossed lap one in 18th. Forced to earn his overall, Tickle had to work through the pack in order to pick up the necessary points. Getting through a couple of riders early on Broc got into 16th before being held up. After continuing the pace, Tickle broke into 15th before the half way mark and from there, quickly moved himself even further into 13th getting by a few downed riders. Holding the position for the remainder of the race, Tickle finished both moto’s in better spots in Hangtown and will use round two as a positive motion into the rest of the series. A 10th overall, with Roczen finishing 7th will sure make the shadow a bit less dark and the entire RCH camp quite a bit more satisfied with two rounds finished.
