TJ Alrbight’s passion for two wheels started on a BMX bike and he transformed that passion into 3 BMX Na- tional Championships at a young age. He started riding motocross in 2009 and quickly adapted to the sport due to his experience on a bicycle. Some of the sport’s most talented riders have come from BMX backgrounds,
most notably Jeremy McGrath. It takes an unnerving amount of commitment and precision to ride a BMX bike smooth and fast and the technical skills necessary to do so transfer over to motocross seamlessly. Therefore, Albright quickly adapted to the sport and won the 85cc M.S.C championship in 2010, just one year after he began racing. He’s made the move from his home state of New York to train at GPF in Cairo, Georgia. Albright has qualified for Loretta’s the past couple of years and his results have improved with each passing year. 2016 has easily been the best season of his amateur career, he took the overall in 3 out of 4 classes that he raced at Oak Hill with a 1st place in 450 B, 250 B, and 250 B Limited. He also managed to score top 10 finishes at the Daytona RCSX and the Florida Winter Ams in 450 B. Albright’s momentum and confidence were sprung forward after putting in seriously consistent, solid results at Mini-O’s towards the end of 2015, finishing twice inside the top 10 and 11th and 12th in 3 of his other classes. His road to Loretta’s has been better than ever this year, only finishing off the overall podium once in the 250 B Limited Class at Englishtown. He took 3 overall victories at the Chilitown MX qualifier towards the end of April and hasn’t missed the overall podium in any AMA sanctioned event that he’s competed in since then. He’ll be looking to continue his run of great form coming into the High Point regional and earn his ticket back to Loretta’s. Albright has been riding better than ever before, and with support from the CycleTrader Rock River Yamaha squad, as well as a top level training facility at GPF, the New York native could make some big waves this year in the B class.
