back to their home towns etc. Life as we know it had DN BUSINESS

2020
Changing times saw those who made the best of the change move 2020
forward while others were falling by the side. We at DN Business Excellence
wanted to recognize and promote those who had made that small effort to stick
on despite all odds and make a mark in the industry they were in.

We decided to go ahead with the DN Business Excellence awards. The going was tough
conducting live awards and events were now something most event management
companies were good at, but, this option was now not there. We had to create Magic online.
We decided to put on our thinking hats and have a go at it. We did not want to take the easy
way out and say we cannot do it.

The event required a lot of planning. First we had to decide in what all categories we wanted to
award people and then came the enormous task of communicating about the event. We went the whole
hog and used all social media platforms to ensure that the word goes out about the event. The entire
team decided to try their hand at being creative. Mayur from the team worked over time to create all
kinds of media content to update. Remya also joined hands by putting up as many posters as she could
and here she was very well supported by Yash. They were ably supported in this area by Laiju and
Preethi who were continually researching and coming up with new ideas on how to go about with the
publicity.

The Website was all set up and ready to receive the nominations from the awards seekers. We saw many
many participants putting in their projects for winning awards in the categories of : Kaizen, Poka Yoke,
5S, Six Sigma and Lean. All selected projects were published in social media so that the winners were
getting a great platform to depict their successful venture into continuous improvement. We saw the
students of NIQC participating whole heartedly.

We also arranged to have about 15 speakers from various industries speak about Quality and aspects of
quality . We had lots of people nominating themselves to participate in the event as well.
In the meantime the Green Room for the event was getting ready. A stage was created online which
looked as good as a movie awards screen. There were multiple dry runs happening to ensure everything
went without a hitch.

The Grand days dawned. The team was a little tensed. The event commenced and WOW what an effect.
The speeches the awards the fun activities all started flowing smoothly one after another. The Man
behind all this action Dheerendra Negi was smiling. He had been ensuring his team got all the support
they needed while he moved them to greatness. Now he stood by watching the event unfold.

There were two days of fun and happiness and of course some tense moments as we all chipped in to
ensure things moved smoothly. None of the hurdles the team went through were visible to the audience
who just saw a smooth brilliantly coordinated event going before their eyes.

YES IT WAS A GRAND SUCCESS. Worth all the sleepless nights and hard efforts put in by the team.
When the curtains were drawn and everyone sat back to enjoy a well deserved break they had the glow in
their mind of having conducted a wonderful online event successfully. They had made a DREAM come
true.
