“It started one morning. A low rumble came from Unicorn Island. It gradually got louder and louder. The herd of ancient horses could hear the noise and many wandered down to the beach to see what was happening. The rumbling grew louder and they could see wisps of smoke coming out of the ground all over the island.
They were curious as to what this could mean. Their leader, Great Gray, turned and looked at the other ancient horses and said that the island must have gotten tired of all of the gossiping and hateful behavior of the unicorns.
Just as he finished his statement, there was a very loud crack and a huge flame shot out of the center of the island. The smoke that had been wisps was now billowing clouds coming out of the ground. The ancient horses had never seen anything like this before. They stared dumbfounded as the flame shot higher and higher and the smoke became thicker.
Suddenly, there was a blinding flash of light and an enormous noise. The ancient horses fled the beach to the safety of the trees just as a wall of smoke engulfed them.
Many minutes passed and the smoke began to clear. There was no rumbling, in fact, things were deathly quiet. The ancient horses walked to the beach just as the last of the smoke cleared.
