A 91-year-old venue needs constant upkeep, even

after finishing a beautiful expansion project.

With the pandemic keeping our doors closed to large crowds,
we have taken advantage of our empty venue to get some
projects done. Here is a recap of some projects we have recently
        completed.

When we installed new carpet in the auditorium, we extended
the concrete space in front of our first row of seats. This left
these areas as bare, unpainted concrete. Peter, our Building and
Grounds Supervisor, got right to work painting these areas to
match the rest of the floor along with our ADA seating area. This
has been a dramatic improvement and we are hoping to paint the
rest of the auditorium floor as well that hasn’t been painted since
        2012.

The area between the stairs in our lobby received quite a beating
during the 18 plus months of construction. Many new scratches
and dings were added to the already existing blemishes. Peter
spackled the areas that needed it and then finished the area off
with sanding and a fresh coat of paint.

Finally, we did a deep clean of the newest portion of our
basement. This was another area that had plenty of dust
remaining from construction. We now have an additional clean
        storage area in the building.

Preservation of the Egyptian Theatre is a never-ending task.
We do the best we can to keep up with building projects. Your
donations help us keep the Egyptian Theatre magnificent for all
that visit this spectacular historic treasure.
