process. The EUL will provide housing on the VA campus for an anticipated 70 homeless
Veterans. It is estimated to open in early 2023.
• Kingman VA Clinic began housing Veterans at the Villas in December. The project has 48
units set aside for the HUD-VASH Project Based Program. As of March 23 , 26 Veterans have
rd
been housed at the Villas.
• The Mobile COVID vaccination plan to vaccinate Veterans in the Homeless Programs has
been successful in vaccinating 36 Veterans in the community to date.
Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) Program:
• NAVAHCS Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Program (IPVAP) concluded the first Strength
at Home (SAH) group intervention cohort with 100% retention. The second cohort is currently
in its tenth week of twelve and on course with referrals to begin the third cohort by the end of
April 2021.We will continue to offer this service virtually as we have been able to provide this
specialized service to Veterans within NAVAHCS’s entire catchment area. Please send any
referrals or questions to Beth Goldstein, LCSW at beth.goldstein@va.gov.
• April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. IPVAP Coordinator, EEO Program Manager (also
White Ribbon Champion and Harassment Prevention Coordinator), and Women Veterans
st
Program Manager are collaborating to bring a “Lunch and Learn” on April 21 at 1:00pm for
staff to raise awareness. We will be showcasing a speaker from a community agency.
Community Care Updates:
• VA is handling Community Care referrals from start to finish, meaning VA will authorize,
schedule, and complete referrals with documents of visits.
• Once a referral is clinically approved, Veterans will be given the option of community providers
who are contracted with the VA for care. Veterans are then encouraged to reach out to the
provider office for appointment scheduling and to notify Community Care staff at NAVAHCS of
their appointment.
• Veterans should add the NAVAHCS phone number to their cell phones (928) 445-4860 as a
contact. We are hearing that this number comes up at times as “Potential Spam” and failure to
respond to calls can cause a delay in receiving care. A Gov Delivery message was sent out to
Veterans asking them to add our number to their contact list to prevent this from happening.
• Starting April 1, the VA contract with the PC3 Network expires, and the Community Care
Network (CCN) will be the exclusive contract for community care. Only community providers
who have opted to be in CCN will be offered to Veterans as options for care and reimbursed by
the VA for the care, unless a specific and current care agreement is in place.
Trust Scores:
VHA Outpatient Services Survey of the past 90 days shows an 89.2% Trust Score rating which
indicates Veterans trust NAVAHCS with their care. VISN 22 Trust Score was 90.3%.
NAVAHCS Events & Activities:
• April is Sexual Assault Awareness & Military Sexual Trauma (MST) Awareness Month –
NAVAHCS, in conjunction with Phoenix VA, is hosting a Virtual 5K to show support for MST
Survivors through the entire month of April.
• A Virtual Sexual Assault Awareness Month Presentation is on April 21 from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
• Laboratory Professionals Week is April 18 – 24. At NAVAHCS we have 24 Laboratory

million tests per year.
