3. Mixingroomsetupcanvarybasedonpaintline,foratypicaltouchscreensmart scale, you will find the PC in a cabinet outside of the mixing room
a. Install a powered USB hub to support the additional peripherals
b. Wired scanners should be used in mixing rooms. Use extra USB
extension cables to achieve desired reach.
c. Place USB mouse receiver in the USB hub, install battery in cordless
mouse, and place mouse in an agreed upon location in mixing room
4. Checkwithpaintertofindoutwhenthescalewillbeunusedfor10-15minutes
then at that time proceed to setup the mixing room PC for use with TIM
a. Install Google Chrome if necessary
1. ChromeinstallfileisonAlfresco
2. YoucanalsodownloadChromeinstallerfromgoogle.com
b. Make Chrome the default browser (steps vary based on Windows
version in use, do a google search if needed)
5. AddRSGTIMicontodesktop
a. Open Chrome and type “rsg.tools” into address bar
b. Open Chrome menu (3 dots)
c. Select “More tools” à “Add to Desktop”
d. Do not check box “Open in window” à click “Add”
e. On Desktop, right click on “Login – RSG Tools”àselect “Properties”
f. Change drop down box for “Run:” to “Maximized” à click “Apply”
6. SetupdesktoptoallowpaintertoswitchbetweenTIMandmixingsoftware
a. To avoid interfering with the buttons on mixing software, move the task
bar to the top of the screen (click, hold and drag), also turn off auto-hide
for the task bar if enabled
b. Make sure that the task bar displays icons for mixing software and TIM
c. Return screen to mixing software
d. Before leaving the area let the painter know that it is safe to conduct
business as usual and that you will provide training after taking inventory
