1.3. SALVAGING FOR NON-METAL MATERIAL

In terms of the number of items, parts made of non-metal are estimated to be around 10% of the total parts
that area usually It is replaced 100%. Starting from this condition, it was initiated to conduct salvaging
research on this type of part such as sensors, polymer material, wiring harness, etc.
By collaboration with PT Banshu
Indonesia –as manufacturing company
of wiring harness-, KRA has develop the
salvage method for two type sensors :
blowby sensor on engine and speed
sensor on axle. Also KRA has develop
the special bench test to conduct
performance test. By this facility, KRA
can ensure the quality of reman parts.
Finally, KRA also performs seeding tests
on the machine unit on site to ensure the
performance of these parts.

1.4. SALVAGING FOR SPECIFIC PARTS (NEAR FUTURE TARGET)

KRA has been continuing collaborate with MEDC for salvaging investigations of specific parts such as gears,
bearings and splines, which are currently have high replacement ratio. MEDC is also expanding its
cooperation with NTN bearing manufacturers, apart from the current one with JETKT.
