NO POLY FOAMS
Is your mattress making you sick? It’s possible. Most of the big foam mattress
brands are made from petroleum-based polyurethane. Paired with chemical
adhesives and ame retardants, they can emit chemical odors (“o-gassing”)
and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) over time - which can contribute to
unhealthy indoor air quality and impact physical and mental health. They’re
also horrible for the environment. Our Organic Mattress, we do not use any
polyurethane foam. Instead, we proudly use 100% natural Dunlop latex from
tree-tapped and sustainably harvested rubber trees from Sri Lanka.
NO CHEMICAL FLAME RETARDANTS
We do not use chemical ame retardants. Instead, our affordable non-toxic
mattress relies on natural hydrated silica and untreated Organic wool as
ame retardants, which ensures we meet all safety standards for
ammability without the use of chemicals. Chemical ame retardants are
known to be “toxic, persist in our environment, and accumulate in our
bodies.” Their use is linked to infertility, birth defects, lower IQ scores,
behavioral problems in children, as well as liver, kidney, testicular, and breast
cancers. Unfortunately, their usage is not required to be disclosed on the
mattress legal label.
