 Solar Water Heaters at RPFTC/MLY:

2 Nos. of 500 LPD capacity solar water heaters were provided on Inspector
Accommodation Building at RPFTC/MLY.

 Automation of Pit lights at KCG:

 Kacheguda Yard is having three pit lines and 4 catwalks. Arial lighting is provided on all pit
lines area with 6 Nos. of gantry consisting of total 60 Nos. of 200 W LED flood lights. Pit line
No. 3 and catwalks 3&4 together having 360 Nos. of 21 W, 24V DC Lights resulting into 7.5
kW. After considering distribution and AC/DC conversion net load coming around 9.5 KW.
 These pit lights are switched ON from dusk to dawn irrespective of rake occupation in pit line.
Observing present practice of rake occupation, the pit line is not occupied with any train for the
total duration of 04 hours per day. This 04 hours’ power consumption can be saved with
adopting zero human intervention scheme for light switching ON/OFF as per rake placing and
pulling off from pit line.
 Kacheguda power maintenance depot has made pit line 3 and catwalk 3&4 lights automation
with the help of diffuse-mode-sensor ML 100-8-1000-RT/103/115 (PEPPERL+FUCHS MAKE)
and associated gadgets. The block diagram of complete scheme is appended below.
