the most famous footballer of all time. Because of
it, he was given the nickname of Zelé, which is as a
mixture of both names. Pele’s real name was Edson
Arantes do Nascimento.
Pelé was the slang term for a roughly made football
pitch: no grass, no lines or boundaries, no goal
posts, it was permanent but totally improvised. No
penalty area. Just a small piece of local land that
