Millfield’s Pastoral care ensures the physical and emotional welfare of our students and is vital for the
development of a student’s character, social skills, life skills and emotional wellbeing.
School Pastoral teams often go far beyond what would usually be expected from pastoral care and are often now
expected to deliver both pastoral and social care support to families and students. Therefore, it is important that
the school offers a variety of pastoral programs to help students cope with the mental, emotional and physical
demands of school life and wider society. Our programs aim to develop well-rounded, resilient individuals who
not only achieve academically, but are equipped with the knowledge, skills and emotional literacy they need to be
in charge of their own wellbeing and mental health as they grow and develop.
We have a dedicated and experienced pastoral team, who work alongside all members of the school community
to support the students in our pastoral approach.
We welcome and value student feedback and input into our pastoral programs and encourage students to share
their reflections regarding the pastoral services available. We actively work alongside students on pastoral
initiatives and believe that a student-led approach is the best mechanism of gaining traction and support within
our student community.
