ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
HIGH SCHOOL ATTENDED: Cass Technical High School
COMMUNITY SERVICE: As a representative of the Black Undergraduate Medical Association of UofM, I
participated in community outreach at a College Night hosted at Ypsilanti Community Middle School.
PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENTS: I have been designated as holding University Honors for maintaining a
3.74 GPA for my freshman year; this summer I was given the opportunity to be a Detroit Community
Engagement Research Program Fellow
COLLEGE ATTENDING: University of Michigan, Sophomore
MAJOR IN COLLEGE: Public Health and minoring in AfroAmerican and African Studies
PERSONAL BIOGRAPHY :
COMMUNITY GREW UP: Detroit, MI
WHAT CAREER ASPIRATIONS: I am on a Pre-med track and will eventually attend medical school. I will
be a pediatric surgeon who is dedicated to serving my community and making sure the needs of all
community members are heard and represented in some shape or form.
HOW WILL THE SCHOLARSHIP FROM SKF HELP YOU: The scholarship from the Southfield Kappa Foun-
dation will definitely assist me with paying for my college tuition. Alleviating financial stress leaves
room for me to pay more attention to my academics and extracurricular involvement. I am grateful
that I have been blessed with this scholarship for two years now
ARE YOU WILLING TO COME BACK TO YOUR COMMUNITY AND VOLUNTEER TO MOTIVATE ANOTHER
YOUNG BLACK STUDENT PURSUE GOING TO COLLEGE?:
I think it is important for children and teenagers to know that nothing is out of reach for them. I don’t
want anyone to feel like furthering their education is not an obtainable goal so if I can help motivate
them in any way I will definitely do so.
