PERSONAL BIOGRAPHY (cont.):
COMMUNITY GREW UP: Education and helping others is very important in my community. Many of us
have been mentors to lowerclassmen in school to help them become accustomed to the rigorous work-
load at University High School Academy. Although we are mentors, we too have mentors. My mentors
consist of my mother, father, and adults from the Midnight Golf Program that I participated in my senior
year.
WHAT CAREER ASPIRATIONS? I plan to return to the Metropolitan Detroit area and help young entrepre-
neurs kick start their businesses and teach them business etiquette skills. Also, I plan to research and
develop safer, eco-friendly materials that companies can use to prevent further damage to our environ-
ment. .
HOW WILL THE SCHOLARSHIP FROM SKF HELP YOU? The SKF Scholarship will help pay for my books and
housing at the University of Michigan. The money will allow me to stay on campus and It will also help
me purchase the books required for my classes.
YOU WILLING TO COMEBACK TO YOUR COMMUNITY AND VOLUNTEER TO MOTIVATE ANOTHER YOUNG
BLACK STUDENT PURSUE GOING TO COLLEGE.? I am willing to come back to my community and
volunteer to motivate other young black students that want to pursue a college education. The
importance of education is not always emphasized as much as it should be in the black community.
Many students are first generation college students and I will help them every step of the way so they
can accomplish all their goals in college and beyond.
