chair and upwards out the exterior wall. Assessment on scene included the decedent sitting in the chair had earbuds and
his phone was playing music.
Autopsies showed both decedents had alcohol and marijuana, which was consistent with alcohol and marijuana found at
the scene. Each had three gunshot wounds, one to each head and two to each upper chest. Trajectories were consistent
with as determined for each in sitting positions, and the range of fire was indeterminate for the decedent in the chair,
and stippling to the decedent on the couch, with another indeterminate. DNA was collected at autopsy and was
matched to DNA found on the decedent’s clothing. There were no other injuries to either decedent.
The prosecution’s investigator conducted additional interviews of both survivors. A neighborhood canvas was
completed, with no witnesses seeing anything, and only two hearing gunshots early in the morning, just before sunrise.
There were several issues with the official investigation with evidence collection and examinations. There was evidence
consistent with connecting the defendant to the scene, firearm and ammunition to the scene and decedents.
